DVD Burner question

I have a dvd burner that can burn dvd+r at 8x. The blank dvd+r also can be burned at 8x. I am useing nero burn my dvds. Is it better to burn the dvds at a slower speed like 4X or does it make any differents if its 8x or 4x. Please help me with this question if you can.

As long as the media is suitable for 8x burning then you will have no problems at that speed.

It only really makes a difference on CD’s, as on CD’s the faster you burn them they are more prone to have errors and scratch easier!

Thanks for all the help. Would anyabody know of a good stand alone dvd player that with play dvd+r. Looking something that is about $60. Please help if you can.
