Hi all. My problem is my dvd/cd rw drive has disappeared from My Computer. I go into device manager (have already tried uninstalling/uninstalling and updating drivers with no success - that bit appears to be working ok) on the General Tab I get the following message - Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37) Any ideas. Thanks for looking. Chris
it could be one of many things, i would start by disconnecting it from you system and test on another system, if the drive works a problem exist on your system, probably caused by windoze update, having said that, can you please list all software installed in add / remove software first
if it doesn’t work then the drive is probably dead
BTW: is i recognized in the BIOS
