dvd drive problem

Hello all,

I have a Samsung DVD-ROM SD-612S and my OE is WinMe. Whenever I insert a DVD disk my system crashes either immediately or after a few seconds of play. I’ve tried a number of different player software - RealPlayer and Softmax to name two - and the same thing always happens. I’ve checked my Region Code set-up and it’s OK.

Any advice gratefully received.

have you had this problem before or tried different DVDs?

It sounds like you may have a faulty dvd-rom drive. Try updating the firmware and see if that helps.

Yes,i’s been going on for some time and happens with all my DVD’s. Oddly it seemed to start once I’d uninstalled Norton Anti-Virus 2001.
