External H.D partitions are not appearing

Hi guys

I have an external Hard Disk ( Hitachi- 160 GB- SATA ). It has 3 partitions . It used to work just fine untill yesterday. It statred to appear as a removable disk and it shows only one partition. When I double click the partition, it gives me th message " Please insert a disk into drive F:" as it became a CD-ROM .

Will you help me with this problem , I have very important files inside which I can’t give it up ever.

Hi mate, this can happen when the disc becomes corrupt so you could try running some recovery/diagnostic software on it, usually available from the manufactors website.

Another thing you could try is Control Panel > administrative tools > computer management > storage > Disk management

and look at the hard drive status in there.
