finding fonts

hi guys,
is there anyway to find out which fonts a program is using, so i know which fonts i need to install on Wine, cos all the ??? dont make much sense to me)

also can anyone suggest a easy to use mobile phone (cell phone) software (preferably with a GUI available)

Just a guess, but I think you need msfonts. The debian package is called msttcorefonts.

If synaptic lets you search for package discriptions, seach for anything this reference to “microsoft”. The debian package search is down, is I can’t look for it. The package in FreeBSD is called msttf. It may also be possible that the package you installed did not install the fonts correctly. Did you restart X after installing? New fonts require a restart of the X server to bring them up. You may even need to add the path to your new fonts in the xorg.conf file under “Paths”.
