Here’s an interesting idea I’ve scene on other forums. You build up a point base of some sort, in our case helpful points I suppose. And then use them to buy little things like mini avi’s below you user info (so you could essentually have a dozen tiny icons below the my computer tab that you purchased with your points. Just stuff like popular logo’s and game portraits etc.

I’m not saying we should rip off their idea but perhaps our own variations would make it a nice idea to further entice users to rack up those points.

I suppose the points base would have to be helpful points because if you were to use post points to buy items, it would encourage users to spam to get what they want.
Very true P-man. It would just be a more tangible reward for those hard earned helpfuls.
We did have a shop feature like this a while back - I liked the idea a lot, and seeing that version I would even more so like to see it integrated, when there is sufficient time for our admins…but as you say change it a fair bit 
I like the idea, use helpful points to buy stuff. I remember Sniper talking about a paid subscription service and maybe that could give you some points to spend in the store too? (plus it’d give you a way of supporting the running of the forum)

I remember that, and that people did like it…at least what I remember of it, but we had stuff like a glowing name add on. It was based around posts
As pelvis rightly said, it should be based on helpful points - more insentive (sp) as posts can be spammed where as helpful points aren’t. (assuming it was integrated)
Yeah it would have to be helpful points otherwise there may be a lot more spam here. Gotta also think about things like name colours, because Admins/Mods/News Crew would have to have their colours for them to be distinguished right?
Also maybe a good idea for this would be the use of custom icons under titles? (just a thought)
Yeah that’s a good idea Matt. I guess we’d have exclusive options for Admins, Mods, and Newscrew members to distinguish from blue and black members.
Like this Idea; everybody will start doing more research to get the solutions so they can get helpful points.
Also to add to this, maybe if this did get implemented along with that Member of the Month thing maybe the member of the month could be given credits for the ‘store’ and a custom colour for their name and a little icon under their name sayng they’re member of the month.

Well, store option can be done, but no icon shop, I simply don’t want loads of images next to user names etc but maybe in the profile…

I like that list, and yeah it’s cool about the icons, they weren’t that important, just another idea really (what about limiting it to 1 icon at a time?)
