Yeah i found this forum and in there some one was saying that GPU’s aren’t designed to run 100 percent all the time for a long time, which i think is true as well. But cards like the quatro and such are ment to run continuously, as they render what not. Or am i wrong.
If running f@h on your GPU was any sort of risk, im sure ATI would have informed F@H when they assisted them in making the client!
why shouldnt a GPU run @ 100% 24/7? just put a bigger heat sink on it, just like you would with a CPU! (or even water cooling blocks for both :D)
To prove that running the GPU at 100% all the time would damage it would have to be conclusively tested. I don’t think it should be a problem for normal, stock graphics cards. Obviously, an overclocked one is a different story, but if a CPU can do 100% all the time and not have any ill effects then I see no reason why a graphics card can’t do the same assuming cooling is sufficient.
