I was wondering if someone could tell me if a PowerColor X1600 Pro 512MB AGP video card will work with Abit’s VA-20 motherboard. I’m not sure if this is the right forum to post in, so please excuse me if I posted in the wrong spot.

Well, I emailed the video card manufactuer about the video card voltages, and it’s supposed to work with my motherboard since it support 1.5v and 0.8v, but when I hook it up to my system, my system makes a long beep, and my screen never powers on… the light on my screen stays orange. If I put my old video card in the AGP port, it works perfectly. Any help would be appreciated. I have a Antec TP2.0 480W PSU (vid. card ask for at least 300).

Tested the video card in a buddies computer the other day, booted up like a charm 
So it’s obviously not the video card being RMA.

Not sure, what would you recommend? I’m thinking about buying a new motherboard since that seems to be my only problem.
The ABIT VA-20 I got is only about 1 1-2 years old, if that, but ABIT has discontinued it.
I’ve heard I should either go with ASUS or ABIT for my AMD Athlon XP 2400+. What do you recommend?
AGP 8x is backwards compatible with AGP 4x standards. I believe that combination shouldn’t be a problem given it’s relatively low age.
Could it be that the video card is to fast for the motherboard? That’s kind of a weird thought, but I was just wondering. I read up on the video card before I bought it and everything seemed fine until I got it, and tried putting it into my computer.
All pins look like they’re fitting in every slot and the power cable is connected. I tried resetting the CMOS battery to no avail, disabled on-board VGA through XP (because my motherboard BIOS doesn’t have the option to turn on-board off) and it’s still doing it. I’m going to save up for a new motherboard I guess, I can’t think of any other problem.
