Hi
Just like graphics card and the chip has a fan individually is necessary to have one for the hard disk. will it give better performance if it is cool.

It won’t perform better, but it will definately last much longer. It’s good to be prudent when choosing a chassis, picking one that provides good airflow accross the surface of the HDD(s). If you don’t have a chassis that cools the HDDs well, you might consider adding a HDD cooler.
I have a HDD cooler from AKASA, it has 2 rather noisy 50mm fans though so I’m thinking of trying to install an 80mm 18dBA fan under there somewhere (there’s no space for a fan at the front of my current case…although air is drawn in through the front grills because of the exhaust fans I have it’s still not enough.

mine cools my HDD by rouchly 10*C which is quite a large drop for something that cost me £4…

i didnt get it from there but that’s a picture of it, it’s pretty similar to many other HDD attachable coolers…
I do not know how to put this in my case bcoz this is how my HDD is placed.

You may have some trouble because of what looks like Drive Rails, you could always try and make your own, use an 80mm fan and hot glue gun it into place somewhere where it will blow onto the bottom PCB side of you hard-drive (not the metal top side)…I’m going to do that on the bottom of my case…
