i got a new motherboard - Asrock K7NF2 Raid nForce2 Ultra Ultra 400 8xAGP Motherboard

the heat sink bit is smaller than the heatsink/ fan i already own, so their must be 2 differnet types of sizes, can anyone point me in the right direction please?

basically, if heat sink and fan is approved for your speed of processor -it’ll be fine, but to air on the side of caution, i’d probably use the bigger one, so long as it’s approved for your speed of processor
the heatsink holder is too big to clip into the motherboard it need to be more compact.

Your talking about the Heatsink not fitting on the Motherboard right?
yeah, i’ve tried looking for a picture of your M/B without luck, just to clarify, can you only use a heat sink that is fitted to the M/B
Nearly all Socket A (S462) heatsinks will be fine with any Socket A mobo. Thats why they have a common socket. You may have a problem if you go for a very large heatsink (i mean very large) but most proper coolers will be fine in a normal motherboard.
That Zalman happens to be one that uses the 4 mounting holes around the socket. It appears as if the ASrock board you’re talking about has these holes.
sorry, but i didn’t think AMD boards used M/B fixing on the M/B, i know intel use M/B fixings, but like i said, i didn’t think AMD boards used M/B fixings
