help quick !

right, trying to run kubuntu, but problems at boot, POST’s ok, loads GRUB, then displays kubuntu logo then detects loads of crap, then displays kubuntu logo a second time a freezes, num lock still working, tried booting with different kernel but same result, tried booting to kubuntu’s safe mode, but don’t know what to type into konsole, this may be my fault cos i plugged in an USB IRda adapter during boot process, but USB is suppose to be hot plugable

please help quick, i’ve got on net by using live CD but want to keep messing with kubuntu

Did you upgrade any packages today?

If so, you may be a victim of the Xserver bug

this morning, yeah, just finished updating it, will have a look to see if it helps me fix it

just replaced HDD, and booted previous kubuntu, everything appears to work fine after sorting Xserver bug, but desktop is black (except for panel), have yet to reboot, so will reboot, back soon
