How do you turn off/disable hibernation mode for Vista?

The reason I’m asking is because its slowing my system down cause’ its fragmented (see pic)

oh, and if anyone knows what the other file is in that pic, let me know

Any of the link below will help you…
How can I remove the hiberfil.sys file from my system?
Delete hiberfil.sys in Vista - ABXZone.com Forums

eeee, i dont want to delete it, just want to disable it, wat if i need/want it later on; are the above methods safe

You can disable Hibernation in the Power Options-section in Control Panel.

thats only for XP, not Vista

Oh yeah that’s true, I’m sorry. You could enter the command powercfg -h off at command prompt, and then just reboot. (That is the same as the 2nd link provided by Karan)

Exactly thats wat i was wondering… did he actually went through those links??

tried this… Delete hiberfil.sys in Vista - ABXZone.com Forums ,worked, but how do you turn it back on; would you just type in “on” instead of “off”

There is nothing wrong in trying stuff…So just type in and see if it works

hahaah, true, till’ u f**k up your system :chk:

…never like to try things with computers if im not sure of something; thats why i joined this forum!

You already did (Installed Vista :P).

You just need to type ON instead of OFF to turn it back on.
