HWF Ubuntu repo? :-)

Could be a pretty cool idea. I’ve created several unofficial packages already:

HWF Dapper Multiverse

Gens 2.12a
LMMS 0.2.1 (because it’s compiled with VST support)

HWF Dapper Backports

Amarok 1.4.4
Amarok-Xine 1.4.4
Kaffeine 0.1.3
Kaffeine-Xine 0.1.3
Kerry 0.2.1
Compiz 0.3.6
Compiz-Gnome 0.3.6
Compiz-Plugins 0.3.6
Compiz-Core 0.3.6
Compiz-Kde 0.3.6
SuperTux 0.3.0
Wesnoth 1.2

HWF Edgy Multiverse

Gens 2.12a

I created the backports using the Feisty Fawn repo and Prevu

BTW, let me know if any of you want these backports. Also I am open to suggestion for programs to backport from Feisty to Dapper.

Sounds interesting. I’d help with any backports anyone needs etc. Also, I would like to use this as a testing ground for some of my applications.

What might they be?

Nothing much as of now, I’ve got a XOR encryption program done, currently building a GUI frontend for it.

We’ve definitely got the horsepower for it, but the bandwidth would be prohibitively pricey I’m afraid.

Mega if you want some hosting space I’ve got a premium rapidshare account I can upload to, that way won’t have to worry about bandwith costs and speed should be fairly fast.

Thanks for the kind offer Syngod. Unfortunately, a Debian/Ubuntu repository has some built-in GPG security which might not work well with that kind of service, so I don’t think it’d work for a real repository. But just hosting the files there would be fine I think.
