Sorry if this is the wrong place to post my thread but I couldn’t find anywhere better (I looked at the FAQ first too). I was just wondering how I can move from Geek Trainee to Geek for instance. Do I need like 50 posts or should I perform some noble deed or something? Thanks
Yup, if I remember correctly its 50 posts to get to a geek, then 150, 400…
I’m sure its in one of the old posts somewhere.

you can have a custom title once you are a active memeber > 100 posts.

I always thought you’d had to have like 500+ to get a custom title. Then I realised you only need 100!

P.S whether its on the forums or if it’s in real life, all you need to be to be stereotyped or labelled as a “Geek” is to have an interest in computers and Computing, or just have slight more intellect than another person on the subject.
I don’t personally like the word geek or nerd too much. thinks of childhood memories
I prefer the term hacker/haxor. (from original meaning not current day.)

Sorry to be able to change your title you have ot be an Active member (those with blue names). You’ll be an active member when you hit 150 posts I think.
you should see it here http://www.hardwareforums.com/profile.php?do=editprofile if not, give it a bit of time before it moves you into the active members usergorup.
Ah, thanks, I guess it takes a little bit for the site to recognize that I’m an active member at > 100 posts. It’s good now though. Just got to think of a title now…
