If it ain't broke...

Don’t fix it.

After doing a nice little swap with my dad, I got a brand new 60GB 7200RPM hard drive. Then I had to go screw around with my BIOS settings relating to the boot order and booting add-in cards. By the time I’d figured out what I’d done wrong, my original install of XP was kinda deleted. No data loss, but still annoying to do a reinstall of Windows that I could’ve avoided.

sigh Oh, well, a fresh install never killed me. At least I know my back ups are working well.

My motto follows as is:

If it aint Broke, Open it up and find out how it works.

I do a format every 1-2 motnhs depending on how hardcore and brainlessly i use my computer. I enjoy formats, becuase with a LAN, transfering my files is easy as 1-2-3.

I keep partitions setup so that when the format time comes, blow away the current Windows install, but not lose any important data.

I need gigabit to make things scream…but then, there’s that whole money thing. Ah, well, that’s why I’m going to school for.

Big B + School = Money + Happiness. Thats the way to look at it. I start college in 6 MO. Lookign forward to it too.
