INF. fault

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this thread, but sure that someone will point me in the right direction if I’m wrong.

I am looking for some advice as I have bought a new Epson R200 printer; loaded up the relevant drivers from cd but it keeps coming up with an INF. error, thought there might of been a fault on driver cd so I downloaded the drivers direct from Epson but still the same fault. I’m running Windows Home XP v.2. Any help would be much appreciated, this printer is connected via usb 2.

It it saying it can’t find the .inf or is the .inf corrupted?

it comes up there is a problem installing the hardware:

Epson USB printer

an error occurred durring the installation of the device
the required section was not found in the NIF

have you uninstalled the old drivers before installing the new ones you downloaded? if not remove the current drivers and reinstall the new ones!

yes i have already tried that still the same error

thanks for the help managed to sort it more by luck that judgement uninstalled windows xp2 even though the printer driver was suppose to be compatable then reloaded printer and away we go
once again thanks

Interesting. SP2 seems to be a hit or miss with compatibility. You might e-mail/report to Microsoft and Epson about it.

have done! its one in the memory bank for similar problems
thank you
