installing 2 sata drives

Using a Giga Ga-K8n mb.

installing two Sata drives

I just want to use both drives, dont want any fancy raid
configurations. The only option avail to me to do this is
sil jbod . But when I set them both to this I get a
MBR error 1.

any ideas

Do you see the drive in your BIOS? Can you set them as devices, i.e. first drive second drive etc?

Or is all this happening when you are trying to use them under Windows?

I have the first one set up as a boot for xp. and the second one
just formatted for storage. but I had to do this one at a time,
I cant see them both at the same time.

If I leave them both set up with jbod’s, them the bios see’s them both,
but … then I get the halt … with the MBR error 1 … but .. If I delete
the jbod from the storage drive .. it dissapears from the bios, although
the MBR error dissapears and it will boot.
