i have kubuntu installed on 1 partition (and a swap obviously) ideally i would prefer it if /home was on a separate partition, can i achieve this without starting OS installation again ?
Not without adding another physical drive or reclaiming another partition on the existing drive, no.
Is the hardrive full or do you have unpartitioned space? If it is full, resizing partitions can be dangerous for your data.
Well not easily anyway, now that I think about it, though it is possible. For instance, if you’re using Ext3 and your drive has some extra space (and not too many bad sectors), take a look over here: Resizing ext3 partitions with parted | Uwe Hermann
…That said, it’s best to do it before you get everything setup, not after the installation.
well, i think i’ll just bite the fridge and start a new installation (obviously after burning some stuff to CD / DVD that i want to keep
Edit: yes HDD full, so i would have to resize the /, so i don’t think i’ll bother
just installed Ubuntu and threw KDE at it, and it became Kubuntu:doh:
