I am getting very hostile with frustration.If this will not work I will give up.
For the last week I have been trying to get a video signal on monitor.
New build and new parts.I have tried most of the ideas on here.So am going to buy this PSU(HIPER Black 580 Watt SLI Ready ATX PSU Low Noise)
any other ideas I would be very pleased with.

SPEC.AMD (Venice) Athlon 64Bit 3200+ Socket 939pin 512k L2cache 90nm.
mobo abit ul8.
1GB DDR PC3200 400MHz 184pin.
Currant PSU is non branded.Pic here.

ok, lets start with the monitor, is it powering up or diplaying somthing like “No Input Signal” and have you tryed a different (known working) monitor

any beep codes at POST ?

Yes monitor displays no video signal and still works fine with my other PC.
I do not get any beeb codes.Forgot to say graphics card is fuzion geforce 8x agp
128mb. I have tried another one.

does your other PC’s monitor work properly on this system ?

if not try reseating grfx card, RAM and make sure everything in the PC has a good connection

I only have the one monitor.
Have tried reseating card,ram,cpu,and checked the connections.I have also cleared the cmos.

try this but it sounds as if your grfx card may be dead or overheating,

what is the exact model of the grfx card ?

is it a 6200 ?

My card is a MX4000.
It works O.K.in my old PC.I have a very old card as well,do not know what type and get the same results on the monitor.

A power supply would be a good bet actually, a lot of symptoms of being unable to boot without beep codes and major components fine are PSU related.

Power supply arrived today and guess what? yep still no video signal.

what PSU did you get ?

you may want to try this to see if you new PSU is powerful enough

I got the hiper type R 580 W.Just tried the calculator and it is ample.

Have you installed the AGP drivers that came with the new motherboard if there were any? Have you got the AGP aperature set to 128MB in the BIOS (shouldn’t cause this problem but hey, worth a try!)

I cant see the bios(no monitor).I have got a disc with the mobo drivers on,but I wont be able to see what it is doing.

I hate to state the obvious but I think you need to get the PC to another monitor, you said you tried your old graphics card (not the MX) in your new PC right?

We know the monitor is working because you use it on your other computer (which I shall call ‘Computer B’). So that’s one piece of the puzzle solved.

Have you tried your ‘fuzion geforce 8x agp 128mb’ in Computer B? Does it work?

Have you tried the graphics card from Computer B, in Computer A yet?

Took a while,put the GeFORCE in comp B worked O.K.
Comp B has onboard graphics.

That’s ashame because I wanted to find out whether the AGP port is working correctly on Computer A.

Does the Geforce’s fan spin up when it’s plugged into Computer A?

Do you have, or can you get hold of another AGP graphics card to try on Computer A?

Also, bare in mind that you can’t just stick any old AGP card in a AGP port!

AGP x8 ports will only work with AGP x4/x8 graphics cards.
