and when i boot it up, the video signal is off nothing shows on the screen, even tho the power hooked on the monitor and the video card properly and it seems that the cpu working fine, because the keyboard leds are on and i can use my cd drive
The Prescott wasn’t designed with Socket 478 in mind, and tends to require more power than a Northwood chip. It’s possible your power supply isn’t up to snuff to handle it. Add to that how Prescott’s didn’t always play nicely with Socket 478 anyway (if there was a BIOS update for it, which may be required in your case).
i just recently found out that wen i left the comp for couple of mins, without nothing showin on the screen. it seems to be checking the floppy drive, the led on it kept beepin after couple seconds? what could that be? should i put bootdisks in?
and my powersupply is pretty good.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144010
have you actually check your motherboard for what i said?
see the image below?
look at that yellow chircled area i have put on, in that chircled area, you will see a plug thing, look for that plug on your board, if there is not a cable plugged into it, locate the cable on your power supply, and then plug that in.
(my motherboard, just to show you what i mean) most motherboards need a cable to be plugged into that plug. (this is the exact same board type as yours, it may not look the same) (865perl) (865pe)
nvm all them lol i jus changed my case and now it works i guess the video card wasnt plugged all the way in.. and now… ive got an error message sayin that ntoskrnl corrupted what should i do?
