I’m having a problem changing the settings on my monitor (Windows XP).
Under the SETTINGS tab in the “Display Properties” window, the “screen resolution” and “color quality” selections are locked.
This occurred after I removed a Gforce 32mg AGP card which went bad and I attached the monitor to the built-in VGA port on the mother board. Can any one give me an idea what is wrong. Any help is appreciated.
the integrated graphics may only provide one certain setting, or u may somehow change it through bios, ive heard of computers like that, that the integrated gpu is only functional through bios

Shouldn’t Windows XP have most of any driver you would need already loaded?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Just pop in your motherboard CD and install the VGA drivers for it, and it should fix the problem. Also be sure to remove your previous video card’s drivers.
