my new computer freezes when i have too much data income from net

hi everyone ,

i have a wireless modem , with my old computer i didnt have any problem.
i could browse multiple pages , download with fastest speed …

but now , with my new pc i cannot download , cuz it freezes when too much kilobytes loads into my computer , or when i use too many tabs it happens …

i installed new windows , i tried xp and vista , even with fresh installed windows i have same problem , i think my modem conflicts with new computers cuz it happens to my Sony Vaio SZ640 .

but these problems wont happen on Pentium 3 or old P4s ,

i was wondering if there is a solution for this or any patch i can use ?

tnx ,

BTW ,
my config :
MB : Asus P5KPL
HDD : 500 SATA2 Samsung
cpu : Q6600
VGA : Geforce 8800 GT
RAM : 2Gig

Regards

Have you tried hooking up the modem direct to your PC by using a cable ? This sounds very strange…It sounds like you will have to narrow down this problem by testing each hardware and software you installed..What is the speed of this new processor ?

it is actually connected with usb cable , software is not important cuz with fresh installed windowses ( xp/vista ) i have same problem , it is hardware that cause this problem , like i said , on my laptop i have same .
btw , my processor is Q6600 , means its 2.4Ghz Quad Core
and my laptop cpu is 2.2Ghz Core 2 Due

If it uses a USB cable then it would not be wireless, can you hook it straight up from the modem ? Also, What browser are you using ?

its a wireless modem that get signals wirelessly and connects to pc with usb ,

man , im not a noob on computer , im using opera and Firefox

It looks like you will have too hunt down the problem ..Start with the ram, then the hard drive…next check network card…
