Except for the video card, it’s not a bad system. You’ll be limited to AGP video cards (unless you go with PCI cards—which aren’t much better than what’s integrated onto the motherboard) instead of the newer PCI Express (PCIe—different than PCI). The only modern game you’d likely be able to play is Half-Life 2—and that’s because of the engine design flexibility. Get something like a GeForce 6600 or 6600GT ($80-130 range) and that’d open up a nice area of performance.
It’s better, but don’t expect to run Doom 3 or Oblivion that well. Again, a GeForce 6600 or 6600GT or ATi Radeon X1600Pro/X1600XT or X800 cards would be the best choices without spending gobs of money on a new card.
Ok I will get that GeForce 6600. First Ill need to save up lol I could take that card back to walmart but dont feel like it. So yah Ill just keep my 128MB then here in a month or so I will get a GeForce 6600, thanks. Reason is because I just spent over $300 so yeah. I have $400 still but thats gay savings lol
Yeah, you can get something better than a 6600 (and make sure it’s AGP, your motherboard does not support PCIe cards), but that will at least allow you to play games made in 2006, not 2000.
