I am so excited I can screem. My own little sandbox…
A laptop has gone under the radar and ended up in my lap.
I am getting it on monday… I think it might be a PIII 700Mhz evo.
Not a mega find but It is all mine and no one can tell me what to do with it…
Time for some educational fun…
What shall I do with it? Ohhhhh the possibilities…
Gateway? experiments? learn all about a zillion different OS’s?
AAAARRRGGGGGG, I am in heaven!!!
I think you should go out in a blaze of glory by downloading as much internet junk as possible, getting hundreds of viruses, Trojans, and spyware, and watch in eager glee as your new laptop is reduced to a doorstop! Huzzah!

I just tried that, but it isn’t working! Am I doing something wrong? :ohah:
Sounds really nice man, that’s about the specs I’m looking for in a network-auditing tool! I’m sure you’ll be able to put it to some good use.
Hahahah…don’t mind me. Seriously, though, have fun with new laptop. I should really get an older computer to play around with/try new OSs on. I don’t dare do it with my home gaming computer and my sorry excuse for a gaming Dell laptop (I hate Dells, dude). Good luck.
So now I have a Compaq PIII Armada M300 with 128 MB RAM
and…and…and I have me a P4 Compaq Evo N610c.
And I know what to do. althogh I am not sure what else I need.
The P4 I will use as an office machine and other cruel expperiments.
The PIII I will try and make into my new Divx player…
Seriously… I hav not got any money to get an all singing and dancing DVD player so I will try and use the M300 (very small little thing) as my AVI format player… will post results!

Mandriva makes a kickin’ Multimedia distro. If you install the PLF repository, you literally have your choice of more codecs than will even play nice together on a Windows system. And if you install MythTV on it, it’ll even act like a media center. Of course there’s always GeexBox, which is made to be a standalone media player, but I’m not sure exactly what you had in mind.
