thread moved
Nothing personal, but the introduction zone isn’t the general hardware problem and there’s no need for two threads covering the same thing.

Thats a S754 mobo which means that you won’t be able to upgrade without changing your mobo. If you wait you can get a S939 PCI-E mobo which you can get with a 6800 pci-e and allow for further upgrades.

or you can be as impatient as me and just buy a 939 board without pci-e

In terms of the hardware… I think that moving to the Socket 939 would be a better idea. Having upgradeability in this day and age is pretty important with the constant turnover with processors and video cards.

I don’t see AMD making another socket change any time soon, so if you get a socket 754 now, you would not be able to move to an FX series if they drop the price or are greatly improved.

It seems as though the specs will make a pretty powerful system, however, I looked at the AddictPC’s website, and they don’t really offer a very good warranty or support. One year warranty on retail/boxed items? Manufacturer warranties are 3-5 years. Just my two cents.
