i don’t know then, although i will check the net
There’s a newer 8-pin PCIe connector, which the Radeon HD 2900’s make use of. Make sure it’s a PCIe connector and not an 8-pin auxillary +12V connector, as they are entirely different.
it is a pci-e. i wanted to know were i can get a 2x4pin adapter to 6pin pci-e.
Pretty much any computer shop should have them for a few bucks. But, failing that this is what you want.
what do u mean failing?

he means, if you can’t get one from a local computer shop, then this is what you want
what should i buy first the video card or the PSU?
is the Ultra X-Pro 600-Watt a good psu that can run the xfx geforce 8800 gts?

yes
easy, PSU, cos your current PSU may not power 8800 GTS, however your current grfx will be powered by the new PSU (i think)
BTW: please correct me if i’m wrong, as i’m not 100% sure, cheers guys, TIA
just to comment on this
is the Ultra X-Pro 600-Watt a good psu that can run the xfx geforce 8800 gts?
Yes, it will run it… for a while, but it is a cheap build of a PSU and is likely to fail when you least expect it, again we encourage you to look at Big B’s PSU sticky (great stuff) which can be found in my sig.
what would be a better buy?
can someone show me a good psu that will run a geforce 8800 gts for under $130?

well, personally i have an Antec TP trio 550W it’s a power house cos it has 312V rails & it has a load regulation +/- 3%, Antec TP Trio 550 on newegg quite a saving @ $85
BTW: & free 3 day shipping
or you could set the Antec TP Trio 650W if you want to spend the full $130
i need 1 with the 6-pin pci-e power connector for the video card. sowhen it has more than two 12V rail its good?
would an OCZ be a better psu.
Which one of these would u recommend?
so when it has more than two 12V rail its good?
yeah, have a look @ Bs PSU Sticky
most crappy PSU’s have only 1 rail, some decent PSU’s have 2 power rails, however, the TP Trio has 3 power rails, some PSU’s also have 4 power rails (Antec Quattro 850W & 1000W
think of a PSU rail as a fuse, the more fuses that are in use (in parallel not in serial, all together, not one after the other) the more power can flow though the fuses, without them blowing
OCZ are on the recommended list, however, i don’t think the list is in order of the most powerful PSU, personally i prefer Antec, but everyone has their own opinion & i’ve heard good things about Enermax
BTW: i used to have a Tagan
im gunna get the ocz 700W because it has four 18V rails and its got the pci-e connetors. its pretty cheap 2 its $104.![]()
