I am having some trouble starting up a newly built computer (build below). First time powering up I had everything connected, lights came on and everything shutdown within half a second. The PowerSw LED stays on until I pull the plug to the power supply. I stripped down and tried to power on with just the motherboard, cpu, and case only to get the same problem. 1 of 10 attempts got me 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps from the system speaker (video problem). I put the video card back in and again got a short start and immediate power down. I then took the video card out and had the same problem. I haven’t gotten any beeps from the system speaker since.
So I figure the problem is either with the mobo or the power supply. Both are brand new, just sent to me within the week. Is it possible that one of them is defective?
