New problem!?

My PC will work fine for a certain amount of time, eg. an hour to 2 hours.

Then it freezes, and locks up for no reason.

Sometimes the taskbar wont appear, and the computer freezes straight away. On the last restart I had BSoD which was “Kernel_Data_InPage_Error”.

I have performed a chkdsk /r to rule out bad sectors on the HDD and got to the Windows screen.

Then performed Memtest86+ and on 3 consecutive runs there were no errors.

At the moment the PC is working, but this is happened before and it will freeze after a certain amount of time.

Have spent almost £4,000 in the last 10 weeks on computer, and dont want to replace anymore. I have ran out of ideas.

Well try not overclocking your CPU, at 2.5GHz it could be causing stability problems. The first thing you should do when you get errors.

Have you actually sat down and tested your OC? If you can run Prime95 for at least 24 hours without errors, the CPU is considered to be stable. You need to actually stress your CPU as simply getting into Windows isn’t good enough. Start off with the stock speeds, then up your OC by 5-10MHz at a time, testing for stability. If you hit a problem, bump up the voltage a little. If you don’t have Watercooling, do not go any higher than 1.6V on the vCore.
