overclocking my old crapy computer????

specs of my old crappy computer

1.2ghz celeron s (256kb l2 catch) (q-tec AMD noisless cooler 3000+, socket a/370, yes it does work with my celeron)
384mb sd ram
intel 810 motherboard
256mb ge froce fx 5200 pci

ok well as i have pointed out, i do not have stock cooling on the celeron-s, i want to know if its possible of overclocking my celeron-s to at least 1.6ghz or maybe 2ghz?

what application should i use to overclock it as there is no options in the bios to overclock anything.

Well before you do any overclocking, get motherboard monitor and check you temperatures.

yea temps are ok, so what next?

Ok I’m not sure but there is probably a jumper on your motherboard named “Config”. If you find it change it from pins 1-2 to 2-3.

and if i change the jumper what will that do?

can anyone find a manual for a INTEL 810E REV.A3 (LOMITA REV.D) motherboard

Have you tried their site.
Because i have ASRock i go to their sit :good: e.

looked for hours and i cant find one.

so what exatly would changing this config jumper on my mobo do?

i couldnt find a manual but i think that is just your chipset not your mobo, i dont think that there is any software based CPU overclocking programs but your BIOS might have hidden features,eg- on my old HP 513a i pressed F1 to go into BIOS and F10 to access the hidden features such as multiplier settings!

did it say that you had to press F10 to access hidden fetures?

no sorry , i meant to say F11

ok but did it tell you to press that for the hidden fetures to come up?

no it didnt, i actually searched on the net for about 4 hours or so just to find what mobo was in it!

you could get third party overclocking utilities since some older computers have a blocked off bios, these programs will dynamically overclock to your wanted speed at startup everytime you boot, thats how i got my old 1ghz p3 presario to 1.06, after that it went unstable haha

oh yeah, im bada*s

lol a 60MHz OC, GO zrock :stuck_out_tongue: lmao

ok, what program would i use to overclock my old crappy computer?

wait im lookin for it, damn i saw it here somewhere

also dont forget to tell me what program it is, but i also have one more question, i downloaded rivia tuner to overclock my fx5200 on my old crappy computer, but i am using the windows grapics drivers that get installed by service pack 2 or, and when i want to enable overclock it restarts the computer, and when i get back on, it wants to restart the computer again, to overclock my graphics card do i have to use propor nvida drivers?

yeah, its best to use the nvidia drivers but coolbits is just as effective!

ok, i will try that.
