I have an asrock k7s8x motherboard with an amd athlon 2800. I usually leave my pc running all day. I came in from work after a 12 hour shift & it was completely dead. Tried to start but nothing. screen was flashing & fans were running but bios not even starting. i’ve tried graphics card & it’s not that. asked a friend & he said it was possibly motherboard which i’ve changed like for like an asrock k7s8x. & its still the same. please help i’ve ran out of ideas!![]()
sounds as though is overheating, possibly your CPU, try underclocking your CPU
(2000Ghz, only for testing pupposes, and see if it works)
Its possibly the power supply . .try changing it . .
i had the same problem mate.
chipset from inside are damaged but the fan is working alright.
Powersupply . .
I agree with FrOz3nD: it sounds like your power supply just can’t pass the muster anymore. Failing that, an overheating might be an issue, but what you’re describing seems more like a PSU issue.
Yeah it wouldn’t make sense for it to be an overheating thing, I’d think. Because u haven’t done anything unusual; like you said, u always leave the comp on all the time and there’s been no problems. It wouldn’t make sense for it to suddenly start overheating by a great deal out of the blue unless your fans or cpu fan broke, but u say fans are the one thing that actually do work. Soo, it must have been something that died from wear & tear, and PSU is a prime suspect.
