No, not really… not to the average user any way. 2-4gb is good enough.
this is the same guy who’s deciding on a radeon 6xxx and wants to play games like witcher 2.
oooh gotcha… then i’d say get at least 4-6gb
but no need for more than 8, right? it may end up being used for things like corel draw and photoshop as well. I know my current xp rig with 4gb cannot handle corel draw very well.
Very few applications take up a lot of memory, but apps like photoshop, virtualbox, and other rendering software will benefit from have 8gb+ ram.
