its driving me scrazy.. whenever i do a clean install of my os, my keyboard always reverts back to its retarded state…
shift + 2 = @ sign
shift + @ = " sign
shift + 3 = # sign
shift + # = | sign
any ideas how to revert to a working keyboard config? in xp pro?
its highly annoyin do alot of work at uni and at home and its a pain remembering the signs e.t.c
go to control panel > regional and language options >languages tab > details button! you should see the desired options to select the UK language…

you’ll be able to make all the symbols: é à è ê ë ç £££££££££££££££££££££
£ = altcar + 3
do the same, and add the UK English lang, if it doesnt already show up, also make sure you apply the settings, it may require a restart of the system.

Strange as it may seem, go to ‘start’ - ‘settings’ - ‘control panel’ and then go to ‘keyboard’. I followed the language settings advice and got nowhere. In ‘keyboard’ go to ‘language’, click on ‘add’ and then find ‘English (British)’ and then ‘OK’. You will be asked for your Windows Installation disk. When you have done this remove English (American) and then reboot.
