Strange as it may seem, go to ‘start’ - ‘settings’ - ‘control panel’ and then go to ‘keyboard’. I followed the language settings advice and got nowhere. In ‘keyboard’ go to ‘language’, click on ‘add’ and then find ‘English (British)’ and then ‘OK’. You will be asked for your Windows Installation disk. When you have done this remove English (American) and then reboot.
