power problem

I recently tried to install a new power supply, only to find that after installing it, the power switch did not do anything. Nothing turned on at all. I put the new power supply back in, and still nothing happened. I am not sure what could be wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Pardon the really dumb question, but did you set the power button to ‘on’ in the back of the PSU?

Yes, it is set to “on.”

Hmm, you may be getting a short somewhere if a metal object got trapped between the motherboard and the panel.

Does the old one work? if yes, it looks as if you’r gona have to get a replacement for the new one.

The old PSU no longer seems to work, so it seems I have either damaged something, thrown a switch the wrong way, am forgetting to make a connection or am shorting something. However, I checked the mobo for any connecting metal objects and didnt find any. Im not sure what I could have damaged to cause this type of problem.

hi
sorry but if you have voltmeter ,check the output voltace of the pcu:+12v,
-12v, +5v,-5v

=

If the old one worked I was gonna tell you to double check to see if it was set to 110v or 230v on the back.
