By the way, I’d avoid both PCChips and Maxtor for quality reasons.

Maxtor uses cheap bearing grease, which means their drives run hotter, noiser, and break faster than equivilent Seagate or Western Digital drives. The $5 you save on a Maxtor just isn’t worth it. As for PCChips, bad QA and low-quality caps. They burn out quickly, and if you want to RMA a bad PCChips board I hope you speak Taiwanese.
