I have 2x1GB Patriot rams(667)
Lately i was getting a lot of bsod with the message irql_not_less_or_equal, so i decided to run memtest86+.
Here comes now the tricky part. When i run the test with both rams i got many errors in test #5 but when i run the test with only one ram i get no errors. I tried all the cobinations i swithced the rams into the slots but i get only errors when i test them silmutaneously
My motherboard supports dual channel, and my pc was running fine for about 18 months…
good idea, but this error can be caused by many things from a buggy device driver to a faulty SCSI (Small Computer Systems Interface - pronouced Scuzzy) terminator
well that error with 1 more rams (as you call them)[ot]officially they are called DIMM’s (Dual Inline Memory Module’s)[/ot]anyway, it sounds like your DIMM’s are having a problem with each other
age is irrelevent, to start with we’ll assume faulty DIMM’s until we prove otherwise, can you try each DIMM separatly in another system & run memtest on each DIMM then install both DIMM’s and run memtest & post the results here
BTW: it is best to run memtest overnight (12 - 24 hours)
well i ran the test on a different machine with no errors…
I borrowed 2 differrent dimms from a friend and i got the same errors(test #5).
Do i have to check any settings? for the voltage perhaps?(recently the technician performed a bios update…)
My motherboard is ASROCK 775 DUAL-VSTA and it has the latest bios version 3.10
