I’m just about coming around to building my setup, and I need to know if this video card is just about right. I am planning on playing Call of Duty 4 at great detail if not, high at around 1024x768 - 1280x1024. Here is the rest of the setup that it’ll be going with.

The processor will be overclocked to 3.0ghz +.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the money at the moment to go with a 8800gt. The ATI 3850 256mb seems fine to me, with DX10 support and being just as good as a 2900xt (as someone said in the review on Newegg) with some differences.

Well that is really close to the same setup I plan to get. I believe that that card is the next best thing to the 8800s and the HD3870. So I would assume that it would work just fine but I have not tested it so my opinion on this may not be the best.

I did some research and asked around and looks like this card is a beast. It destroys the 8600, x1950pro and any other card in its price range. The next best thing would have to be that 3870 or an 8800.
