RAM using too much power?

Well, I got 2 GB of OCZ 500 Mhz RAM shortly after getting BF2 and overall I am happy. But my problem is that when I run my RAM at 500 Mhz my computer constantly crashes and hangs. Is the 2 GB plus the 500 Mhz using too much power? I have an Antec Neopower 480 with a 3500+, X800 Pro, 4 80 GB HDDs, two of which are in a RAID, 4 case fans, and 3 optical drives. The thing is, I can run completely fine with it at 400 Mhz. I have it at 400 Mhz and have been running F@H at 96% CPU for around 3 days and haven’t had a crash. I can read on 1 optical drive and burn to the other 2 simultaneously and be fine too. So is this a PSU issue, a motherboard issue, a RAM issue, or something completely unrelated. Oh, and 1 more thing, I looked on the Abit site before buying the RAM and OCZ is supposedly compatable.

Does it crash when running at speeds in-between 400MHz and 500MHz?

I don’t think its a PSU issue, are your timings too tight? Try loosening the CAS latency to see if it solves the issue. If it does but your RAM is rated for lower latencies then you might have bad (performance) RAM.

Good advice there Addis, I didn’t think of that…

Timings are set to stock. I am wary of messing with it now because I have had to reset my BIOS more than a few times already. Maybe when I get some time I can mess with it.I have read of people that can run at 500 Mhz and 1t but I can’t even run 400 Mhz and 1t. Maybe I got some bad chips.
