Replacing CD/DVD drive on Toshiba Laptop

Greetings!

Quick question for some knowledgeable person out there. My girlfriend’s CD/DVD combo drive needs replacing on her A100 Toshiba laptop. I opened up the case and determined the Model # on the part to be UJ850. She is curious how much it would cost to buy the part and I would install it for her. Now, how do i find out which replacements part are compatible with this laptop, or can i only use UJ850? Any help appreciated, thank you.

You shouldn’t need to get that particular part number. Check this list for drives that should work fine with your computer. Newegg slim dvd burner

I think you can find a manual on the replacement of the drive on toshiba’s website.

I don’t know if her current drive is SATA or IDE???
