We can’t ban someone because that person is starting a personal discussion. Unless it’s getting very extreme, I could do that. But I’ll keep track of the messages that are posted in that thread. If personal attacks are starting to appear, I could give warnings to that guy.
I’ll discuss the issue with him. This particular user is actually pretty helpful on average in the technical respect, if a bit caustic. That said, I’ll ask him to pull back on the overzealous headbiting. Also, he’s incorrect about his facts in this case, which makes the whole that much more pointless.
In summary, thanks for the report, but try not to let it bother you. We’ll get it all worked out one way or another. Everybody makes mistakes, so try to be forgiving if you can.
