I did a couple searches on the forum but couldn’t find a thread that could help me with this particular problem. I’m very new to SCSI so please bear with me.
I have a Dell Precision 650 workstation, currently has a 36GB SCSI drive as the primary boot drive with XP Pro SP3. I installed an IDE 120GB hard drive with plans to use it as a data backup hard drive. But upon booting into XP, the IDE hard drive doesn’t show up.
I checked through the settings and see that there are two separate bios programs, one for (what I assume) is the motherboard IDE and another for SCSI (LSI Logic brand). Now the motherboard bios does see the 120 GB IDE HD, and is listed on the primary ATA as drive 0. LSI SCSI bios only sees the 36GB (of course).
I’m guessing that I’m just missing something obvious that a SCSI newbie doesn’t quite know yet. Can anyone give me any suggestions on why the IDE drive doesn’t show up in Windows?

P.S. At some point I will be partitioning the SCSI drive to dual boot with Linux (probably CentOS) and I want the IDE drive to only show up in Windows. Is that possible?
