how do i add a custom avatar from a URL?
my only options are simpsons charactars.
We have a database of images that you can use from the get-go, but you can’t upload and use a specialized avatar you have until you have 50 posts. It’s kind of a small privilege for active users. In fact, things get a lot less restrictive in several ways once you’ve established yourself with 50+ posts in the forums.

do you realize that most self-respecting forum-goers are just going to find another forum?
that’s one of the most ridiculous forum rules i’ve ever heard. not only is it a bad rule, but something tells me HF doesn’t have permission to use all of those childish simpsons art pieces.
Then feel free to go somewhere else. 
If something like an avatar is a big deal for you, I’m not sure how well you would do here in the first place. Forums are about a lot more than cute little 75x75 pixel images.

No, it’s not a big deal. But if you look at my post count, I’ve been a member since '03 and have well over 5,000 posts. 50 posts is a drop in the bucket.
I’m not willing to argue about this. In fact, I’m pretty sure I made my position clear in my last post. Take it or leave it.
just getting my 50 posts in…respond or ignore it.
