Something fell off my motherboard! Need replacement.

Hello,

I am in need of suggestions for a replacement of the ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP AiLifestyle Series P35 Socket 775 Socket eSATA 8 channel Audio ATX Motherboard.

It needs to be currently sold and similar, particularly to work with the hardware I have installed. I use the built in audio SPDIF, so that is needed too.

Please give me some suggestions, I can’t use my PC until I get this ordered and install it. The study is a right mess, the PC is simply lying flat on its side and takes up a lot of space.

My CPU is: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66GHz 1066MHz FSB Socket 775 8MB L2 Cache (2 x 4MB (4MB per core pair)) Retail Boxed Processor

Well, Socket 775 is no longer the current CPU socket new motherboards are coming out with, so for the least hassle, the P5K would make it easiest, or any other P35 motherboard. Also, at this point, an X58 chipset-based motherboard would be a step up if you wanted to get a high-end motherboard, but that’s about the top of what you’ll get right now.

Hi, what OS are you using? if your using windows xp you can buy any socket 775 motherboard that supports your cpu (check the cpu support list) as you can just use the repair windows option from the windows boot disk.

If your using vista, seven your best going for same chipset Intel p35 doesn’t have to be asus, can be gigabyte, asrock, evga etc, if you choose a different chipset can cause blue screen issues due to drivers. but vista and seven do put alot of generic drivers on so good chance you could get away with using a different chipset but go for p35 to be on the safe side.
