Second-tier motherboard maker Soyo Computer plans to phase out production of its motherboards and instead focus on development and distribution of computer-related upstream components and plastic materials, according to company spokesperson Dave Liu.
Soyo will also change its corporate name to Hao Teng Technology (translated directly from its Chinese name), Liu noted.
The shift of business came following last week’s reshuffle of the company’s board of directors and board of supervisors.
Actually they weren’t as bad as people make them out to be. The main issue they seemed to have was memory performance, and that might be corrected with an updated BIOS flash. I’ve been hearing that this only affects Soyo Taiwan, not the Soyo USA branch. I’d seen it over at PC Perspective’s forums in the Soyo AMD mobo section.
