I have just installed media center edition 2005 on my old computer, and connected some speakers, and the thing is, i hear some sort of interfierence coming through the speakers, infact when i am loading a program the interfierence gets louder, i have tried another set of speakers, and they are experiencing the same interfierence, any ideas what could be causing this?
This is not going to help as I am not actualy answering the issue…
I had a simillar problem with my ASRock onboard C-Media chip.
Then my mobo fried and my replacement mobo had the same chip but the problem was gone
Where are the speakers plugged in? Back or front?
If it is in the front - try the back and completely disable front audio.
This could also be some earthing problem.
The reason I mention earthing is that for example laptops sometimes emmit a noise through the audio outlet when you charge them, if the charger is not earthed…
well according to what sabashauli said it just the motherboard might be bad as well i had a 2 similar problems one was interference and the other was similar, anyways for the one i got a audio card, i did some searching and found thats what others did as well, for the other one i re-installed windows, i think a driver or AC 97 driver was bad or missing, and it was fixed. So it could be a couple things, windows has a messed up driver, the driver for the onboard sound might need to be updated, or the port might just be bad.
