Hey everyone, just a quick question: Where do I go to find a check list of the startup items and processes that will come on as soon as my PC boots up. There’s a bunch of stuff that’s active and I don’t usually want (slows everything down too). Thanks.
control panel-> administrative tools-> services
Thanks but I want to be able to uncheck/disable some of these items so when I restart I have less processes and items in the toolbar.
Some things start up from a shortcut in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
and
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
others are in the registry and others are like ninja fetus said in the services…
There are tools that bring them together…try searching on google for one…
or::
start>>run>>msconfig>>startup tab.
Nice i knew about MSConfig although didn’t realise there was a Start Up tab…lol
or you can use a very simple program “Autoruns” from http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/autoruns.shtml
