If you’re familiar with this windows error (svchost.exe) please notify me with a solution to the problem.
What exactly is the error?
Have a search on your drive as it should only be in your system32 folder. If its elsewhere it could be a virus.
Well there we have it: IT’S A VIRUS.
[COLOR=“DarkGreen”]What it caused. Is it allow to open drives by double-clicking? If so it’s a script. Actually not harmful for the applications setup on your machine.
If the drives won’t open by double-clicking then it would most likely be the copy.exe error!
A description of Svchost.exe in Windows XP Pro
The Svchost.exe file is located in the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder. At startup, Svchost.exe checks the services part of the registry to construct a list of services that it must load. Multiple instances of Svchost.exe can run at the same time. Each Svchost.exe session can contain a grouping of services. Therefore, separate services can run, depending on how and where Svchost.exe is started. This grouping of services permits better control and easier debugging.
I guess this will explain what this process is… ![]()
[COLOR=“DarkGreen”]Correct, so it’s a script, in other words. Format on a Linux system, it will fix the problem.
The file may be corrupted. I had the same problem before and there is a virus that hides itself with the same name, but sometimes its just a file corruption and not this virus the cause.
Fortunately, I solve my problem just repairing XP. So, this could be an step .
[COLOR=“DarkGreen”]But it will take more time.![]()
just an hour…not big deal and if you are not infected this may be a solution.
[COLOR=“DarkGreen”]Fine.
