I’m ‘making’ a new PC by choosing all the specs I want. I’m forced to choose a hard drive but I don’t want to start all over and the like. Is it possible to take the hard drive out and put it in my new computer? Would it work?
I am not sure on what you are trying to do, If you change the Motherboard, then all your drivers will also change… You will have to format and reinstall the OS..
i know that in winxp it had to be pro edition and not oem, but i’m not sure about the newer os’s.
you might just be able to get away with plugging it in and make it work from there.
before you try anything you might want to make an image backup of your drive.
it could crash and you would definitely need to do a clean install.
Don’t know if you have looked at this already but microsoft has a file transfer program 4 xp settings to windows 7
Worth having a look at anyway Windows help and learning
