Hi, im having problems with a new system build. Basically I have the geforce 6200 but im not sure this is the problem as I had the same with another graphics card. When I turn on my system first thing it boots fine, however if i reset it via windows then my screen wont come on. I have to hit the reset button on my tower before it does. I have tried everything in my bios and this has happened with a pci and a pci-e card.
Ive also updated to the latest bios and drivers for motherboard, chipset and graphics card.
Any idea’s anyone?
Thanks
dave

Sorry that bit would have helped! Its manufactured by a company called sum and then the exponential sign (kind of a backwards z crossed with an e) Ive tried the board with literally just the cpu, fan, graphics card and knoppix in the cd drive.
All the power connectors are plugged in, this is about the 20th odd system ive built and been using these psu’s for a while, never had a problem with them before.
Its when i reboot, windows shuts down normally then instead of restarting and posting i just get a ‘no signal detected’ message on the monitor and my monitor goes into standbye mode. Ive also just tested and the caps button wont activate the light so im wondering if the board is crashing.
Here’s a couple of things to try: Go into BIOS and manually set your CPU core voltage to 1.35V and then set your RAM voltage to 1.8V.
That symbol is the Greek letter ‘Sigma’ by my best guess. I’ve never heard of the brand, and if it came with your case especially, you’d be better off to purchase a new powers supply. Unfortunately, not all power supplies are equal, and you can’t judge a power supply by the wattage.
I’d try manually setting those BIOS values first, but if they don’t work, buy a new 400-450W+ from the likes of Antec, Enermax, FSP/Sparkle/Fortron, Hiper, OCZ, or Seasonic…which are good brands that you should be able to find quite easily. They are not the cheapest out there, but if you’re looking on a pure price point, FSP/Sparkle/Fortron or Hiper will probably be the lowest prices.
Ok well i tested the psu with my handy kit and there all kicking out exactly what they should, so its not the psu, also to mak sure tried it with a coolermaster 600w and same problem.I tried flashing the bios and that did the trick, untill the pc was powered off. As soon as it was powered on again it would do the same thing. Really winding me up now!
