Unlike Debian and Redhat, there aren’t many derivatives of Slackware. I can only think of two worthy for mention - Vector and Zenwalk. Of course, neither of these are as polished as SuSE or Mandriva.

Slax is a Slackware derivative. So is Suse.

Slightly off-topic but anyway, what are your thoughts on Debian? Better then Ubuntu?
[/QUOTE]
In many ways, yeah. But Ubuntu definately comes across as more polished right out of the box. They really did a good job on Ubuntu aside from the stupid user policy decisions.[/ot]

 Mandriva is a redhat derivative, not SuSE.[/ot]

[ot]From Wikipedia: The SUSE Linux distribution was originally a German translation of Slackware Linux. In mid-1992, Softlanding Linux System (SLS) was founded by Peter MacDonald, and was the first comprehensive distribution to contain elements such as X and TCP/IP. The Slackware distribution (maintained by Patrick Volkerding) was initially based largely on SLS.[/ot]

[ot]you guys are crazy lol just jokin[/ot]

[ot] Well bugger me! Excuse my French! For some reason, this has really suprised me! I mean, SuSE is nothing like Slackware  . [/ot]
