Time Problem

I wasn’t quite sure where to put this. I figured it was a problem with my BIOS so i put it in Here, so if it needs to be moved, go ahead :slight_smile:

I’ve been using SuSE 9.2 for about a week now, and for some reason when i set the time in linux, used the OS for a few hours and then rebooted into Windows, the time in Windows is about 11 hours behind in time. So i set the correct time in Windows and went back to SuSE and what happens? The time is changed yet again, but this time only about 3 hours behind the correct time.
So then i went into BIOS and set the time manually and booted into SuSE and the time is right, but then i go to Windows and back to SuSE and everything is stuffed up again!
What the :swear: is happening to my time?

Most unices user GMT by default, which may be different than your local time. Also, Most Linux distros use NTP to syncronise your CMOS clock to a time server somewhere else. If you don’t have your timezones setup right, it will throw off your clock quite a bit. In other words, set up your local timezone and your problem should go away.

Actually, my time zones are set right, as far as i can see.
I just changed the Hardware clock from UTC to Local Time, so i’ll see if that makes a difference when i reboot :cool:
